Since September 2024, the ALCOR Équipements teams have been hard at work. The Kursaal, a major institution in Northern France, entrusted us with the design and installation of their congress center grandstands for a busy season. The challenge? A tight schedule and constantly changing configurations.
Every show has unique requirements. It’s not just about installing seats; it’s about rethinking the space for each event:
- September: An intimate 800-seat configuration.
- Oct/Nov: A modular grandstand for 1,300 people.
- December: Maximizing space with a large 1,980-seat stand rental layout.
- January: A similar 1,930-seat setup for a specific show.

Why choose modular stand rental? Adaptability. At the Kursaal, space can be limited, so we integrated the control room directly into the metal structure of the stands. This saves floor space while giving technicians a perfect view of the stage. Aesthetics were also a priority; adding seat covers elevated the venue’s standing, a crucial detail for theater or dance performances.
Whether for a trade fair or a rock concert, the structure adapts to the venue, not the other way around. For venue managers, renting offers incomparable financial and logistical flexibility compared to fixed seating. Once the event is over, we dismantle and leave, allowing the venue to be rented out again immediately without downtime. Safety and Technical Expertise
Public safety is our absolute priority. Every ALCOR Équipements project strictly adheres to regulations and the EN 13200-6 standard for demountable stands. For the Kursaal, managing crowd flow was key. For certain stands, we installed robust scaffolding-style staircases to create rear access and evacuation routes, fully compliant with public safety regulations.
